हेमा दास को आसाम पुलिस में डीएसपी के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया: "मैं यत्नपूर्वक यहां काम करूंगी और अपना खेल कैरियर जारी रखूंगी"

भारतीय स्प्रिंटर हेमा दास को शुक्रवार को असम पुलिस के उप अधीक्षक के रूप में शामिल किया गया था और इस क्षण को बचपन के सपने के सच होने के रूप में संदर्भित किया गया था।

गुवाहाटी में आयोजित एक समारोह में, असम के मुख्यमंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल ने उन्हें राज्य सरकार के साथ-साथ पुलिस विभाग के नियुक्ति पत्र और शीर्ष अधिकारियों को सौंपा, जिसमें पुलिस महानिदेशक भी शामिल हुए।

अपने प्रेरण के बाद सभा को संबोधित करते हुए, हेमा ने खुलासा किया कि वह एक युवा होने पर एक पुलिस अधिकारी बनने का सपना देखती थी और इसलिए यह उसके लिए बहुत ही खास क्षण था।

“लोग यहां जानते हैं और मैं कुछ अलग नहीं कहने जा रहा हूं। अपने शुरुआती स्कूल के दिनों से, मैंने एक दिन पुलिस अधिकारी बनने की इच्छा जताई और मेरी माँ ने भी यही कामना की।

दास ने कहा, "वह दुर्गा पूजा के दौरान एक खिलौना (खिलौना) खरीदता था, मेरी मां मुझे असम पुलिस में काम करने, लोगों की सेवा करने और एक अच्छा इंसान बनने के लिए कहती थी।"

हिमा ने कहा कि वह राज्य की बेहतरी की दिशा में काम करना जारी रखेंगी, लेकिन इससे भी महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि उन्होंने अपने खेल के करियर को जारी रखने की कसम खाई है।

"मुझे खेलों के कारण सब कुछ मिला, मैं राज्य में खेलों की बेहतरी के लिए काम करने की कोशिश करूंगा और असम को देश के सबसे अच्छे प्रदर्शन वाले राज्यों में से एक बनाने की कोशिश करूंगा, जैसे हरियाणा।

उन्होंने कहा, "मैं असम पुलिस के लिए लगन से काम करूंगी लेकिन मुझे कहना होगा कि खेल कभी भी पीछे नहीं हटेंगे।"


असम के मुख्यमंत्री सरबानंद सोनोवाल, जो पूर्व केंद्रीय खेल मंत्री भी थे, ने कहा कि डीएसपी के रूप में हेमा की नियुक्ति युवाओं को खेलों में उत्कृष्टता हासिल करने के लिए प्रेरित करेगी।

“असम के लिए गर्व का दिन। ख़ुशी से औपचारिक रूप से ऐस एथलीट @ HimaDas8 को @ SP के रूप में @assampolice में नियुक्त किया गया। खेल नीति के तहत उनकी उपलब्धियों के लिए एक सम्मान, नियुक्ति युवाओं को खेल में उत्कृष्टता हासिल करने के लिए प्रेरित करेगी, ”उन्होंने ट्वीट किया।

हेमा 2018 में विश्व जूनियर 400 मीटर चैंपियन बनीं और उनकी नजर अब आगामी टोक्यो ओलंपिक के लिए क्वालीफाई करने पर है।

गुरुवार को, उसने एक वर्ष से अधिक समय में अपनी पहली प्रतिस्पर्धी दौड़ में भाग लिया और भारतीय ग्रां प्री II में 23.31 सेकंड के समय के साथ महिलाओं के 200 मीटर में स्वर्ण जीता।
