Canadiens fire Claude Julien, place interim tag on Dominique Ducharme

  In something of a tailspin after a blazing start to the season, Marc Bergevin and the Montreal Canadiens have responded with a major move. Montreal announced Wednesday that head coach Claude Julien has been fired and replaced on an interim basis by assistant head coach and former Team Canada bench boss at the world junior championship, Dominique Ducharme. The move, which includes the decision to also release assistant Kirk Muller and promote Alex Burrows from AHL Laval, comes after a consecutive loss to the last-place Ottawa Senators — Montreal's fourth defeat in its last five games.  Renaud Lavoie reports that the decision was not made based on Tuesday night's result. Real Madrid showed why they're Liga champions with a convincing 2-0 home convert Atletico Madrid within the derby on Saturday to finish the pacesetters' unbeaten start to the league season. Real Madrid deservedly took the lead within the 15th minute when Casemiro headed home from a corner, leaving Atletico behind for the primary time in their 11th league game of the season. Dani Carvajal put Zinedine Zidane's Real side further comfortable with a shocking strike within the 63rd minute which came off the post and into the internet off keeper Jan Oblak for a goal. Atletico was utterly outplayed by the champions and didn't have any attempts on goal within the half, while they did not manage an attempt on track until the 80th minute when Saul Niguez's header was saved by Thibaut Courtois. Atletico still leads the standings on 26 points, while Real climbed to 3rd and closed the gap on their city rivals to 3 points, although Diego Simeone's side has a game in hand. The
